Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of the NSW budget.

Today will be Treasurer Matt Kean’s first budget, and the government’s last before voters head to the polls in March next year. Kean will deliver his budget speech to the NSW lower house shortly after midday.

This is a big bucks budget, heavy on the spending and heavy on the debt. All up, the government will have announced more than $37 billion on new initiatives by day’s end, with the prime focus on women, families and cost of living.
